Zee Zindagi is back and in its second innings, you should be looking forward to watching the much-hyped series – Churails! I checked out Churails and found the 10-episode series captivating. It is a web-series from Pakistani TV producers with a bold theme. With Churails, the world is going to witness what Pakistani filmmakers are capable of. In a society where the voice of women is suppressed by the male chauvinists, coming up with a courageous show from women point-of-view is worthy of applause from the audience worldwide.

Characters and Actors
Sara Khan (Sarwat Gillani) and Jugnu Chaudhary (Yasra Rizvi) are two elite women.
Batool (Nimra Bucha) and Zubaida (Mehar Bano) play lower-middle-class women.
These are the main characters around whom the story of Churails revolves. There are other characters who help story move forward. There are two lesbian ex-convicts and a trans person who join them in their (ad)venture.
The show is directed by critically acclaimed director, Asim Abbasi who created this power-packed drama that will be remembered for long.

Storyline
Sara and Jugnu are from upper-middle-class families in Karachi who feel inferior as compared to their male counterparts. They want recognition in the society that is ruled by patriarchy. Though both of them don’t realise the problems of the lower class of society, their interaction with poor, suffering Batool and Zubaida made them understand that women are exploited everywhere in the world.
Frustrated by the cheater men in their lives, Sara and Jugnu start a ‘Detective Agency’ to uncover the cheating husbands. Batool and Zubaida join them. They set up a shop to sell burqas for women, as the women in their country wouldn’t visit a Detective Agency to spy on their husbands. The real purpose of the modest cloth shop is to hunt down cheating husbands.
Problems crawl in when they find that their spying has led to some serious situations. A few horrible truths are exposed that are connected back to their homes. A person is killed and one member of the Detective Agency also goes missing.

My View
Asim Abbasi, the writer and director of Churails is brilliant in his approach. When the world is moving above things like the men-women-equality, some societies are formed on the ugly concept of exploitation of women. A web-series like Churails is an eye-opener that should be reached in every corner of the world in order to reduce countless horrible incidents against women.

The title of the series itself seems to very different.. I have watched a few of its episodes and I liked it.. A very different version of a woman has been depicted.
