If you are the one who never had the habit of staying indoors, then this COVID-19 phase can become even more daunting for you. You must take care of your physical & mental health and your emotional well-being. Some tips for you will get you started!
There is no point in telling you that you should exercise at least 5 days a week to keep your physical & mental health in place; you already know that. But what you need to know is that it is quite simple to follow this exercise regime. You just need to download a fitness app (for example, Cult. fit), pay for a monthly subscription, and just join an exercise session, according to your convenience.
Thinking too much about the ongoing pandemic can seriously damage your nervous system. It can play with your head and push you to a negative zone. Do not let that happen to yourself. Practice Mindfulness. You can listen to some meditative music, watch/read motivational content and calm yourself down. Consciously remind yourself each day, that this time too shall pass and we all will be okay.
To become mindful, you need not sit in a meditative pose every single time. Even while doing activities like gardening, if you are completely involved in it, you will be meditative.
Yoga is basically about bringing a balance to your body, and ultimately to your mind & emotions. It is not just about being able to do a posture; it is about correcting the geometry of your body. You will find a lot of certified yoga teachers who can teach you yoga, as per your needs. For example, if you need to reduce your body weight from crucial regions, then you can go for ‘Vinyasa Yoga’. If you want to open your body joints, then you should go for ‘Upa Yoga’. To upsurge your body energies, you can go for ‘Kundalini Yoga’. Also to buy Yoga mats at affordable prices use Amazon offers and save both time and money.
You always need someone with whom you can share your worst nightmares; find that someone and remain connected with this person. Sometimes, just mindless blabbering in front of your favorite person can restore your physical & mental health. Even if you cannot meet this person, in person, remain connected via WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, etc. If you have taken abstinence from social media, talking on call is still a thing!
Cut out excess carbs from your diet and include protein & vitamins rich food in your diet plan. It is important to give proper nutrition to your body, which includes essential nutrients like zinc, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin B-complex, potassium, etc. All these nutrients are also important to boost your immunity. You will fight this corona only with a strong physical & mental body.
It is not at all important to stick to the ‘only nutritious food’ plan. First, because it is not a sustainable plan. Second, it is kind of boring to not have a cheat day in your life (as far as food is concerned). So, stuff yourself with junk food, occasionally.
Cut-off from News for a Bit
I know it is pointless to ignore the reality, but then playing something so negative, again and again, is also damaging your life in many ways. There is no point in getting saturated with Corona news. Remain well informed so that you do not miss out on the latest updates regarding the situation, but do not overdo it. Also, always believe in the news that you get from a trusted source; do not fall prey to an advertisement gimmick or a piece of false news.
Clutter around you means negative energy around you. Covid-19 is anyway negativity around you, you do you want to reinforce the negativity by cluttering your personal space. Decluttering would essentially mean that there is no heap of clothes lying on your bed, wall-mounted shelves look arranged, etc. Spend some time every day decluttering the surrounding ambiance. Now that you are spending a lot of time indoors, you need to live in a happy and clutter-free environment; take care of that.
Engage in Something New
This pandemic has not only bought negativity, but it has also bought monotony and dullness in life. People are no more excited about anything new. You must find something (any skill) new for yourself and engage in it. What does your creative self, wants to do? Dig within. There is dancing, singing, sketching, painting, beat-boxing, nail artist, doodling, and million other things that you can pursue.
Self-care is not only about exercise, yoga, health & fitness or eating right. It is about exploring yourself. It is about appreciating and pampering yourself. It is about loving yourself. You can start by gifting yourself a nice-looking dress, a grooming kit, or that PS4 that you wanted to buy since ever! You can also make it a routine to talk to yourself and be there for yourself.
Get Fresh Air
You need to be in fresh air once a day, for sure. You can either stand on the balcony, march onto the rooftop, go for an early morning walk outside your home, or just stand near your room window. The point is, you need to breathe fresh air into your lungs!
I’m sure, life will be back to normal soon. Keep the above pointers in mind so that you can bounce back after the pandemic with the same energy:)
