Fitting into old jeans

How does it feel like fitting into old skinny jeans? For me, it is the best feeling ever. Better than going to shop for new jeans with a new, bigger size. Better than receiving a gift of cool, trendy jeans. For me, it is Indeed a proud moment when old jeans adjust to my newly acquired body shape. Or, should I say the proud moment when my hard work starts showing the result in the form of “Fitting into old jeans”!

  1. Being comfortable in whatever you wear is of prime importance. Be it jeans or chinos or cotton trousers, you would look good if you are comfortable in it. Good one.

    1. It’s not about what you wear but about how you carry a piece of clothing. A fit person looks better and comfortable most of the

  2. I agree with you Aditi, there is no better feeling than fitting into your old pair of jeans. Everytime I wear my old clothes, I proudly announce that I still fit into it.

  3. I am glad you fit into your old jeans. Though I agree that it is indeed a splendid feeling to fit into old jeans, I guess it would be a little impractical to try and fit yourself in jeans that may be a decade older!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ only if wishes were………..

    1. Not that impractical I must say. If you’re in your teens then you can give this excuse.
As we grow older, weight management takes back seat. Can be due to work stress or unhealthy binging habits.
Fitting into old jeans can be difficult but not impossible.

      1. Yes true I wholly agree if you are very much in teens or a little more it is practical. With age, obviously it gets harder to manage the love handles !

  4. Reminded me of a hindi story I wrote not so long ago, titled ‘purani jeans’.
Isn’t it the best feeling in the world.

  5. Love the hashtag #FittingIntoOldJeans and the concept behind it. Going to start attempting to fit into my old ones. Great post, Aditi.

  6. Fitting into old jeans is the best feeling. But the focus should be on being healthy than just skinny. Hope people understand that.

    1. I agree with you Deepa. One feels proud to go back in shape, this feeling sprouted as my blog post #FittingIntoOldJeans. Skinny was not the condition and will never be:)

    1. #FittingIntoOldJeans is our favourite dream. A little determination and a little sacrifice can do wonders!
Good that you share my dream;)

  7. This Post has motivated me enough to be back in shape which motherhood took away. I really wanna get back in shape now ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I am working hard too to fit in my favourite old pair of jeans. Hopefully, I will, in a couple more months. But I would definitely like to add one point here, it shouldn’t happen at the cost of the health. Never go on a crash diet.

    1. No need to go on a crash diet. A wise decision to eat a food item or not will be sufficient. Good luck for your health voyage:)

  9. This is dream for most of us..and not very difficult if we are really determined! Loved the way you have put it. Good Luck!

  10. I know how amazing is that feeling…i remember I was literally jumping when after pregnancy i could fit into my old jeans ๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. I just love the feeling! It must be a great one too! Though I haven’t gained much weight post pregnancy, I am sure I will gradually. So, this is such a good feeling to fit into our old clothes!

  12. Ohh such a lovely post and motivating too. I also want to do that but not finding the right way.

  13. Even though I am far away from fitting into my old jeans… I was able to fit into some of my old tops… I have a long way to go but the progress is certainly happening and it feels so good. Nobody but who has gone from fit to fat and back to fit would understand this.

    1. Once we start working on our fitness, the positive result definitely shows. It’s upto us to stay sincere in our efforts:)
      Thanks for reading!

  14. The feeling cant be expressed in words when after delivering twins, I still managed to fit into my old jeans…yay.

  15. The woes of fitting into old jeans are indeed real! Gosh…it has been such a struggle for me. I have jeans of varied sizes…Number the size and I can blindly point to where and which of the trunks it is in!! haha…Wonderful post ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. Liked the positive vibe of your post. Though I’m firm believer in being comfortable in one’s own skin (regardless the weight), I can’t deny the secret thrill I feel whenever my size swings back from XL to L to M.

  17. I completely get you. I was able to fit in my pre-pregnancy clothes recently and the joy was unparallel.

  18. Haha.. I am actually contributing to this job industry. By making sure not to keep the same clothes for more than 1 year. No old jeans… Lol.
I know… that was just an excuse bcs I can’t make it with determination.Wish? Yes. Efforts? No.

  19. We all have that one pair of jeans stashed away in some corner of the cupboard with the hope that we will some day fit into them. And whether we fit into it, or how tight it is becomes the barometer of our fitness more than the weighing scale!

  20. Donโ€™t even think about starving yourself or doing some crazy diet just to get back into your former size. That never works and it certainly doesnโ€™t give you an edge on the lifestyle youโ€™re meant to enjoy. Consider making small, daily changes for at least the next 30 days that will gear your mind, body and energy towards fitting into your favorite jeans, dress, swim suit or romperโ€ฆwhatever it is you LOVE to wear.

  21. This post strikes a chord, indeed! I have been on a protein diet and have lost exactly one kilo, but even that feels so good! ๐Ÿ™‚ Here’s to more losing and fitting into old jeans! ๐Ÿ™‚

  22. fitting in old jeans is definitely a tough task, whether u lose or gain weight. but why to get fit in the past why not we want to buy new jeans and try not to make it unfit for future use?

  23. I always fit into my old jeans. But not the way you probably would assume. I have always been on the heavier side and so it is the same sized jeans for me usually. I promote body positivity, so unless I really have a health reason to worry about, I’m fine looking good the way I am.

  24. Hey Aditi , Fitting into old jeans is all about feeling good , looking good and inspiring others to do the same. Instead of being couch potatoes and hogging to eternity , if we start healthy diet and exercises , Old jeans will add charm to our confidence.

  25. I just heard a quote from the launch video of ‘Pajamas are forgiving’ which seems very befitting for this post…”Pajamas are forgiving in nature. It’s jeans that really know how to hold a grudge.” ๐Ÿ˜€

    A very honest post indeed!

  26. Nothing gives more happiness than if someone says “Hey, U look bit Slim” Ha ha ha. I have still kept few tops since a decade with a wish that Once I shall fit into them. Also I have the dress that My hubby had gifted me first time, I have it tucked into a corner of my wardrobe with a secret wish to fit into it(which is as impossible as counting stars at night) and surprise him. Wonderful Write up !!!

  27. Sorry dear ! Notbfor me today as I am planning to have pizza tonight for dinner and that too cheese burst
    #msarorasays

  28. I so wish, have been holding old jeans with me for this dream only, but i love everyday whatever size I’m, it’s one life so no regrets. That was a beautiful time but this is no less with present size too.

  29. Ah that feeling of fitting into old skinny jeans. I have long since abandoned both the desire and the jeans and prefer to buy new ones that fit! But I congratulate you on this achievement. Keep it up dear!

  30. It is definitely a great feeling to fit into your old jeans! No doubt about that…I am totally with you on that. But beyond that i think we all should give ourselves allowances for the minor changes our body goes through time to time. Striving to keep fit is always welcome. but “Love the skin you are in” is mantra to live a content life.

  31. Rather than Fitting into old jeans, my main concern is to get a fit in any jeans ;)))
This is a dream yet to be accomplished by me. Although I am working on it let me see when I achieve it. A very positive post by the way ๐Ÿ™‚

  32. Oh it’s a phenomenal feeling! I’m on a fitness spree right now… Still little far from fitting into my pre pregnancy jeans but I’m motivated!

  33. Ah! The divine feeling of zipping up an old pair of skinny jeans is the most blissful feeling. However, fitness would be more a priority for me than fitting into skinny jeans. Great post!
