10 Proven Ways to Stay Happy

Wondering why I stress on being happy, every time I share a post?

You should observe that physical and mental health largely depends on our happiness level.

A happy person is more likely to live longer, make great friends and face adverse situations bravely. Links to the researches are not here but based on our experience, we can not deny these results. You meet a cheerful guy and your next few hours get better. Meet a sad fellow and your day will become gloomy. We infer that happiness is transferable, it passes from person to person making this world a better place.
It is important to focus on the happiness level as it not only affects you but also the people around you.

Sharing a few tips that are going to help you in staying happyπŸ˜ƒ

🐞Block Negative Thoughts

Negative thoughts are silent killers. When my mind entertains negative thoughts, I lose confidence and find myself unable to do anything productive. My attitude towards life becomes less enthusiastic. We have a solution and can imbibe in our lives with practice. Stop emphasising on these negative thoughts and move towards a happy and healthy life:)
Be Productive.

🐞Think Positive

Look around yourself. You are blessed with a beautiful life and the huge world to explore. Your ‘What If’ and ‘What If not’ are snatching your freedom to grow. Life is good, your little effort will make it better. ‘I can do’ is the motto that does wonders. Go for it:)

🐞 Exercise Regularly

We all know that ‘A healthy mind resides in a healthy body’. It is scientifically proven that an active lifestyle keeps the brain active. Brain, that’s the control room of the human body, works best when it gets sufficient supply of oxygen. By exercising, the oxygen supply to the brain is regularised and all parts of our body are coordinated.

🐞 Make Friends

Making friends is healthy! Yes, it is true. Make good friends and learn how to keep them. Your social health improves, you learn to interact and build healthy (and real) emotions. Spending quality time with friends brings out the best in you.
[Over-indulgence is bad and it is relevant in this case also;)]

🐞 Be thankful for what you have

We usually focus on what we don’t have; at the cost of rejecting what we do have. This is silly.
You have a lovely family, a job better than millions, a pleasant personality many people wish for and so on. But! You lament over less salary, petty fights with spouse or your dusky complexion. Think of those who are not gifted with these privileges. A family, a job or a charming persona.
Friends, BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE; the thought definitely has an essence.

🐞Eat Healthy, sleep sound

“You are what you eat”
Think before biting into that extra cheesy pizza. Each extra cup of coffee you’re gulping down may deplete you of good health. Red meat, alcohol, aerated drinks; reduce their intake and improve your health.
Health is the most precious possession, try not to lose it.

🐞List your strengths and boost them

Take time out to talk to yourself. Find out where your strengths lie. Work on them. Remember, it’s good to be in a better form of yourself than to become a copy of someone else. Each person is different from another. Stop chasing others and build an image of yourself. Happiness will follow.

🐞Practice Yoga and Meditation

Yoga and meditation are proven therapies to stay fit and healthy. By practising Yoga asanas, you build a protective castle around yourself. Your immunity and ability to tackle situations improve with these exercises and as a result, you are happy:)

🐞Make others Happy

The problem with most of the people is that they focus on their own happiness. For them, happiness has a narrow meaning. If they don’t get what they want, they become sad. The narrow approach is the reason why most people feel unhappy, unsatisfied. Increase your happiness range. Be happy in the happiness of the people around you. Magic will happen:)

🐞 Learn to laugh unconditionally

Laughter increases blood circulation, improves the immune system and decreases stress level. In our busy lives, we sometimes forget to laugh. A formal smile is all that we wear to make ‘others comfortable’. Learn to laugh unconditionally. Small children burst into laughter like angels. They don’t have worries to tackle, you may point out. I want to convey the same to all of you. Whatever be your worries, laugh like a pure child at least once a day and see the difference. The difference in your perception of life. The difference in your health. The difference in your presence:)

After all, It Is Happiness That Matters In The End.

Health and Fitness – Drink Water but How Much?

Drink Water but How Much?

Water constitutes a major part (~60%)of our bodies. It means that we should drink sufficient water to keep our metabolism running smoothly. Water is essential because:

🌱 Water flushes out waste products from our body
🌱 Water carries nutrients across the body.
🌱 It keeps us hydrated and maintains the right temperature of the body.

One thing I’ve noticed that some people drink a lot of water while others are satisfied with a much lesser amount. Is there any parameter to measure the amount of water we should drink? Are we doing harm to our body by drinking less/more water? And, most importantly, is this harm temporary or permanent?
I’m sure you are also searching for the right answer. This article is about our water intake.

Health experts recommend at least 8 glasses (~250 ml each) of water to be consumed every day. The amount is subject to vary according to age, weight, type of work one does and health condition. So it’s important to know how much water our body needs.

Water Intake according to age:

🌱 Men require more water than women. An average man should drink 3 litres of water daily and an average woman should drink 2.2 litres.
🌱 Children in the age group 9-13 need 2.5 litres of water every day.
🌱 The requirement of infants is as low as 1.3 litres.

🌱 Water intake varies from person to person though they might be classified in any one of the above categories.

Now, what affects the thirst of the people of the same age and gender? Let’s find out!:)

🌱 Health:

Health condition of an individual decides the amount of water he should drink. A person suffering from fever, diarrhea, vomiting needs more water or ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) to replenish water in the body.
A woman who breast-feeds her child needs more water than an average woman.

🌱 Occupation:

A laborer who works in the sun needs more water than the person who works on a computer in an air-conditioned room.

🌱 Season/Environment:

We need more water in the summer/hot environment because a lot of body water is lost due to sweating.

Are other fluids contributing to our water need?

Our body gets fluids not only from water but also from tea/coffee/milk and foods rich in water. Fluid balance of the body can be maintained by having fluid-rich foods. It’s a myth that caffeinated drinks don’t contribute to the hydration.

Conclusion:

We see that water intake is different for different people. You should not worry if you’re drinking more or less than your friend:)

🌱 There need not be any hard and fast rule about how much water should be taken. Drink water when you’re thirsty. Follow your thirst.

🌱 Lack of water in the body can cause constipation, low energy level and even brain dysfunction.

🌱 Look for the following signs of dehydration and replenish your body with sufficient water.

– Constipation
– Less peeing
– Dry Lips
– Sticky mouth
– Dizziness
– Rough skin

🌱 Water is life. Drink sufficient but do not waste it:)

Health and Fitness – What is in Human body?

What is in Human body?

A human body is like a machine where each organ plays its part. The organs work in sync to enable our body to do everyday functions properly. All of us study the basic structure and functions of various parts of the human body in schools. Let’s have a quick recap:)

🌼 Involving heart, veins, arteries, blood; the CIRCULATORY SYSTEM moves blood, oxygen, carbon dioxide and hormones in our body. An important part of human life network.

🌼 Mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, anus, liver and pancreas are the important organs that form our DIGESTIVE SYSTEM. It helps us to eat food, digest it and remove the waste material from our body. Also an important part of our system.

🌼 Brain and spinal cord form NERVOUS SYSTEM that controls the actions of our organs by sending signals to all the parts of the body. No doubt about its capabilities.

🌼 Trachea diaphragm and lungs perform important respiratory functions and hence control the RESPIRATORY SYSTEM. An essential system for our living.

🌼 Then we have MUSCULAR SYSTEM, REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM, INTEGUMENTARY SYSTEM (Skin), URINARY SYSTEM, SKELETAL SYSTEM, LYMPHATIC SYSTEM and many more.

🌼 The more man understands the structure and working of human body, the more efficient he becomes in dealing with the diseases and disorders.

🌼 We all have read that our body consists of about 60% of water. Yes, two-thirds of our body is water and we can’t imagine living without this fluid. No wonder they ask us to drink plenty of water to stay healthy.

I hope you enjoyed going through your body’s contents. I want to share a big revelation with you. Till 2014, it was assumed that there are 10 times as many microorganisms present in the human body as there are human cells. Recent studies show thatπŸ‘‰

🐞 43% of our body is made up of cells, the rest is occupied by microscopic organisms.
🐞 The microscopic organisms include bacteria, viruses and fungi. The concentration of these organisms is more where our body lacks oxygen, like intestines.
🐞 A recent study shows that we are more microbe than human denying the previous theory that microbes outnumber cells in the ratio 10:1.
🐞 There are good as well as bad microorganisms.
🐞 We have tried to overpower these microorganisms but in the process, also harmed the good ones. Many diseases like Tuberculosis and Smallpox have been conquered but there is an increase in the diseases where the body’s immune system attacks healthy cells. Cases of allergy have also increased in the last few decades. Worrisome!
🐞 Most of the human(fed) microbes reside in oxygen-deprived bowels, questioning the cause of diseases like obesity.
🐞 It looks impossible that we carry such a large quantity of microbes without having any effect on our body.

Ha! We’re living in a world where each day begins with new theories and new researches. What people found healthy in the nineteenth-century is unhealthy today because it is proved through a series of experiments. The ‘healthy food’ we are eating today may get banned in future.

The debate on healthy food goes on and we continue to find a safer way to stay fit and strong.
