10 Benefits of Eating Local Food

Eating local food is believed to be healthier, tastier and more nutritious than the food transported from distant places. During my supermarket visits, I’m tempted to buy colourful vegetables and fruits that are not grown locally. Everybody wants a change and such food items look bright and inviting; as if saying, ” Come, pick me up!”;)

It’s okay to have these fruits and vegetables once in a while but local food is the best for everyday consumption.

Benefits Of Eating Local Food

They have committees, researchers, proven results to show that local food is better than the food imported from distant places.

What exactly is Local Food?

Local Food is the food that’s grown, manufactured or produced within a 100-mile radius of the consumerโ€™s home. People who choose locally produced food for consumption are called Locavores. The popular ‘100-mile diet‘ has the same basis; that is buying and eating food that’s produced withing 100-mile radius of one’s place.

Here are some benefits listed to get an idea of how effective local food can be!

1) Fresh and Nutritious

Food grown around the place you live is of superior quality and undoubtedly, fresh. I mean, the chances of getting good quality food produced near home are better than the food from distant places. This home-food is likely to be more nutritious than that imported.
Prefer buying local produce and stay healthy.

โญโญโญFood such as broccoli, green beans, kale, red peppers, tomatoes, apricots and peaches are susceptible to nutrient loss when harvested and transported from longer distances, while those that are heartier such as apples, oranges, grapefruit and carrots keep their nutrients even if they travel long distances.

2) Good For Environment

You cut down on carbon footprints by purchasing local goods. Locally produced food doesn’t have to travel thousands of kilometres to reach you. More fuel means more pollution that increases unhealthy gases in the environment. Simply eat local to minimize the extent of dangers we are facing today.

3) Supports Local Farmers

By eating locally grown food, we are indirectly supporting local farmers. It means prosperity and happiness will prevail around you. With more demand, farms will be updated with the latest technology to handle the supply.

4) Supports Local Economy

As local farms flourish because of the better market, the economy is bound to expand.
Money spent in the local market stays in the local market resulting in booming the economy.

5) Less Wastage of Food

Since distance travelled by food is small, less food is wasted in distribution, warehousing and merchandising. Spoilage is limited and can be controlled.
This way, you are helping humanity by saving food. At the same time, the good quality of the food can be assured.

6) Taste Better, New Flavours

Now that you have limited yourself to eat local food, explore new flavours that are waiting to surprise you. Good, nutritious food is found near you and you are searching for it around the world.
Discover the new foods you’ve never tasted. Yes, you’ll find it in tune with nature.

7) Encourages Sustainable Agriculture

Sticking to the Local food implies encouraging sustainable agriculture, and facilitating tracking the supply chain back to the point of origin to evaluate ecological practices. This enhances economic growth, environmental protection and social health.

8) Less Travelling

This is another benefit of eating local. Easily available local food can be obtained from local markets easily with the guarantee of freshness and purity. Products from far off places are brought by some means of transportation with a little assurance of freshness and purity.

9) Good for Soil

When people start buying more local produce, farmers will grow diverse crops making the soil more fertile. When the same crop is grown over a large area for a long duration of time, the quality of soil deteriorates.

10) Connected Communities

Giving importance to local produce can boost community interactions, thereby connecting people through market transactions.
Such markets are buzzing hubs of a community. People interact on a regular basis and stronger bonds are developed.

Local Food takes lesser time to reach your plate from the farm, it’s healthier and tastier. Instead of hitting the supermarket, visit the local market to buy local fruits, vegetables and other products. Support and promote your neighbourhood. A definite route to celebrating health and safety!

Keto Diet- To Follow or Not to Follow

Keto Diet is the latest trend among today’s health-conscious people. However, I’m yet to decide on implementing the K-diet regulations. Fascinated by the extent of the craze, I made up my mind to search for the pros and cons of the Keto Diet and write on the same.

๐Ÿ’ฎ”Wow! What a transformation!”
I was surprised to see my friend after six months. The change was apparently so obvious that I couldn’t help giving her the compliment. I remember her as an average overweight girl with no visible intentions to lose weight.
“How?” I could hardly mumble just one word in the hope to get an answer to the transition.
“I’m following keto diet:)”, she ready with the answer.

Again, it’s Keto Diet!

I look at myself. Lifestyle mistakes have taken a toll on my body. I should lose at least 5-7 kg of weight to stay healthy and look presentable. My desire to go back to the original size is reinforced by the keto-diet mania. There’s no excuse left to start searching for the exact meaning of the Keto Diet.

What is Keto Diet

๐Ÿต In keto diet, carbohydrate intake is drastically restricted and it is replaced by good quality fats and proteins. Low-carb food can also be included but in a very small quantity. The diet comprises of meats, eggs, sausages, cheeses, fish, nuts, butter, oils, seeds, and fibrous vegetables. The exact intake of carbohydrates is 20-50 grams per day that is very low.

๐Ÿต Standard ketogenic diet (SKD) comprises of 75% fats, 20% proteins and only 5% carbohydrates. The diet changes the metabolism of the human body drastically and hence should be followed for a limited period.

๐Ÿต It is based on the theory that a low-carb diet decreases carbohydrates in the body and increases the fats. Instead of carbohydrates, the body uses fats and convert them into energy.
Fat molecules are changed to the new kind of molecules called ‘ketones’ that supply energy to the brain. The process is known as ‘Ketosis’ and the diet followed to make it happen is called Keto Diet.

Benefits of Keto Diet

๐Ÿ’ฎ Keto Diet is followed for a limited period under the observation of the experts. When followed with precision, the diet can do wonders for your body.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Follow Keto Diet to lose weight.

After following Keto Diet for some days, our brain will become accustomed to burning fats to get energy; the energy used to carry out body functions.
It is seen that people lose their weight in a few days of keto-therapy. The weight loss is twice or thrice the weight lost by other methods.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Keto Diet reduces body insulin levels. Blood sugar drops significantly after 4-16 weeks into keto-diet therapy. When on an extremely low-carb diet, the body releases fatty acids that’s used as energy. This, the fats stored in our bodies are used up in simple metabolic functions.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Keto Diet is known to prevent and even cure cancer in many cases. The diet causes more oxidation of cancer cells than of the normal cells. Reduction of insulin is also related to the prevention of some cancers.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Improves heart health:
By following Keto Diet strictly, the health of the heart improves. A study shows that this particular diet increases the HDL ( Good Cholesterol level) significantly and decreases the level of bad cholesterol (LDL).

๐Ÿ’ฎ Improves brain functioning
Keto Diet improves functioning of the brain. It is observed that children show improvement in memory, when on Keto Diet. Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases are also controlled by prescribing Keto therapy to the patients.

Side Effects of Keto Diet

There are some side-effects of keto diet and these must be taken into consideration before following the strict diet plan.

1) Constipation

Bowel habits change due to the drastic change in the diet plan. One can suffer from acute constipation and other bowel irregularities.

* Increase your fibre and water intake.

2) Lack of energy, Leg cramps, Keto Flu can make you feel dizzy and reduce your capacity to do work.

3) Though Keto Diet is known to decrease sugar levels considerably, you should not change the regular diet with Keto without asking your doctor. A serious medical condition, ‘Ketoacidosis‘ can put you in danger.

Health is the Ultimate Wealth

People across the world spend a huge chunk of their income on health-related issues. Most of them are not interested in taking precautions for good health but are ready to jump on each remedy they discover after catching diseases. We come across many new ailments in our lifetime and the number keeps on increasing with each passing day. Scary as it sounds, I think it’s advisable to become health-educated than to spend and repent later. Healthy individual leads a happy, content life and handles stress better than others. There are many misconceptions about the idea of health. Most of us have the opinion that health is exclusively physical fitness. The problem begins here.

WHO defined health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

We infer from this definition that physical fitness is important but mental health and social behaviour also affect our well-being to a great extent. The infographics shown below gives suggestions to stay physically fit. These are really good tips for a healthy lifestyle. Add to it the flavour of social and mental health. These are the support pillars that boost our physical fitness to exist longer and brimming with joy.

The concept of health has been changed in the last few years. Experts give as much importance to mental condition and social behaviour as to physical fitness. There’s a revolution in the healthcare system where new ideas are changing the world for the better. Need is to spread the word about the significance of mental and social abilities.

๐ŸžSo, what defines a healthy person?
Every generation is different from the preceding one and the big change we observe in our generation is the increased mental stress and troubled social behaviour. These conditions might have not troubled our predecessors to this extent. The need to draw boundaries for social and mental health didn’t exist to such a considerable degree; hence the definition of health was limited to physical well-being.

Let’s define Health

๐Ÿž Health has a vast meaning including physical, mental and social soundness. A person with all these abilities is considered a healthy human. See, it’s time that has changed the concept of health and we don’t know if this definition stands true in the coming years.

๐Ÿž Not falling ill is healthy. Equally important is the speed of recovering from the illness. Diseases strike all but the magnitude of impact differs from individual to individual. A healthy person has good immunity that helps him to bounce back to normal life after falling sick.

๐Ÿž Health acts as an everyday resource for us to lead a great life. Work on it and wake up every day to happy and optimistic energy. Save your health.

๐Ÿž What are the factors that influence our health?

– lifestyle

– The physical environment

– The social and economic environment

– The person’s individual characteristics and behaviour

– Genetics

– Gender

๐Ÿž There are so many aspects of health that we can’t blame a person for having bad health or praise another for having good health. Some of these factors are beyond the control of a person. We can’t do much about the social and economic conditions. It’s not in our control to be born in a healthy or rich family; our social and financial structure depends on it. Gender, male or female suffers from different diseases; we can’t control.

๐Ÿž Numerous factors deciding our health and many of them can’t be regulated by us. But, there are still many, we can manage wisely for a better lifestyle. Our happiness largely depends on our health. A healthy person lives life fully and is a valuable asset to society.

Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle

๐Ÿต Eat nutritious food and minimise white sugar, white flour, oil-ghee-butter, alcohol, stale, processed, packaged food. Take every step to improve your food intake. Before putting anything in the mouth, realize that it is going to decide your tomorrow.

๐Ÿต Exercise faithfully. Be it running, yoga, gym or some kind of sport; put your efforts to get supreme benefits.

๐Ÿต Don’t miss your prescribed water intake.
It keeps the body functioning smoothly. Setting up a reminder to drink water after regular intervals does work.

๐Ÿต When in stress, try to reach out for solutions. There’s nothing that can be solved with careful planning and good support. Discuss your condition with near ones, your family or friends.

๐Ÿต Socialise. Interact with the people around you. You are one of them. They too face problems and interaction will give you a peek into how they manage their crisis.

Remember, health is the ultimate wealth.

OH YES, I Love Bollywood Gossip!

Bollywood gossip is one of those few things I survive on. What are the chances of this Bollywood actress marrying that cricketer? Which celebrity was seen going out on a date with some ‘unknown’ person? My curious sense tracks the news and hunts down interesting outcomes. It’s not just me, more than half the population of India is in love with Bollywood gossip and they are proud to confess.

I’m amazed to see how these Bollywood actors manage to keep their lives delightfully happening. When I say that I go through the news regularly, it means that my Page-3 information is up to date;)

Alia Bhatt Rejected Aamir Khan’s Movie

The latest in the kitty is that Alia Bhatt might have rejected Aamir Khanโ€™s movie, OSHO because she was committed to Salman Khanโ€™s INSHALLAH. Alia was to play Ma Anand Sheela in Osho biopic where Aamir is supposed to play the spiritual Guru Rajneesh Osho.

*Alia didn’t want to miss out on working with Salman and her favourite director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and said no to all the other projects that were offered to her. But luck had something else in store for these actors. Sanjay Leela Bhansali shelved the film ‘Inshallah’ because of the creative differences with Salman Khan.

*The film Inshallah would have been the most anticipated Bollywood collaboration as Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan had decided to work together after almost twenty years. Their last joint venture was ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ in 1999.

*Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director who respects his actors and considers their suggestions but up to some extent. One of the best directors of our film industry, Bhansali doesn’t entertain any interference with his creative concepts. The limit might have been crossed by the actor Salman Khan and Bhansali dumped his ambitious venture. Ouch! Think about Alia guys! She had reserved all her dates for Inshallah. Other projects were refused because she wanted to focus on this ambitious film. Now, what’s the plight of Bollywood’s favourite girl, Alia? She is certainly upset over the unexpected unfolding of the incidents.

*Meanwhile, Salman Khan has tweeted that Sanjay Leela Bhansali film has been postponed but he would come up with another one this Eid. A great way to stay true to his ritual of releasing a film on every Eid.

*Another tweet from Salman’s handle clued that he will not disappoint his fans and present a big release this Eid though not Inshallah.

Ahem. Ahem.

*If speculations are to be believed, the Salman-movie to be released this Eid is Kick-2. Fans, who wait for their favourite superstar’s movie every year during festival season, are excited by the news.

**Another rumour ruling social media is that the mother of a Bollywood actress is fighting with her daughter’s husband over the latter’s property. The authenticity of the gossip that’s spreading like a fire can’t be denied and I’m working on it. Click to know who the family is and why the fight is brewing among its members.

7 Things to know before buying a DSLR

Owning a DSLR is the favourite dream of many. You may be one of them. You scroll through the infinite buying options and get confused, postpone the idea and preserve your dream for the next opportunity. Today I’m here to help you come out of the postponing-mode by sharing some tips to buy a DSLR camera. I’ll discuss everything from features of a DSLR to the best๐Ÿ‘‰ DSLR๐Ÿ‘ˆdeals in the market. Keep reading!

1) Passion For Photography

I know your friends boast about their newly acquired DSLRs. They are considered more tech-forward, more fashionable than you. Oh! Is this the only reason to buy the gadget! Stay sane man!!

Ask yourself. Are you buying the DSLR camera because you have a passion for photography or is it just following the crowd blindly? Own the amazing DSLR camera if you can’t do without it. Otherwise, there’s no use keeping the high-utility gadget in the cupboard.

2) Kind Of Photography You Do

Before purchasing a DSLR, the purpose should be clear in your mind. You are clicking pictures of family and want a low-end DSLR. You are a professional photographer and want a high-end camera to cater to the needs of your clients. You are a wildlife photographer who wants his pictures perfectly natural, aims to get the best one available. Find out your category and choose the camera wisely.

Top brands have various options in Digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras for all purposes. Make sure to check the features before making payment.

3) How DSLR differs from Ordinary Digital Camera

By now you are certain that the camera you want has to be a DSLR.
People are crazy for DSLR cameras in spite of its higher price range. Those who have used both the cameras know that the DSLR picture quality is far superior to that of the other cameras. The speed of clicking and saving images is higher. The best part is that we have plenty of photographic options available in DSLR. You can blur objects or adjust the depth of the pictures.

4) Interchangeable lenses

Most of the DSLR cameras have the option of changing the lens. You can keep different lenses ready for various shooting needs. Interchangeable Zoom lenses are the most popular. Special purpose lenses are used for special purposes and are not used by all. For example, Fisheye lenses are used to take a 180-degree view.

5) Automatic Focus and Image Stabilization

DSLR cameras come with autofocus option. A number of autofocus modes are available depending on the model. Though the camera focuses on the object in the centre of the frame, many DSLRs allow changing the focus point. In that case, a switch is provided to move between Manual Focus and Autofocus (M/A).

If the ordinary camera is not held steady, the image blurs. This error is reduced in the DSLR with the Image Stabilisation technique. There are two types of Image Stabilizations:
* In-body Image Stabilization-
Image sensor is moved to counteract the sensed motion of the camera. It works for all lenses mounted on DSLR.

* In-lens Image Stabilization-
It is implemented in the lens itself to counteract the sensed motion of the camera. You will have to buy Image Stabilization lens separately.

6) Maintenance of a DSLR

After acquiring the brand new DSLR camera, you should be concerned about its maintenance.
Keep your camera and lenses clean and enhance the life of the gear. Unwanted things like dirt, dust, smoke or humidity can hinder the performance of the camera. Watch this video to know how to clean the gear with perfection. Get a basic cleaning kit and be regular in removing harmful substances from the DSLR.
Don’t miss the camera bag to carry your precious possession. Now you are ready to go creative with your DSLR.

7) Watch Out For Crazy Deals

When you make up your mind to buy a DSLR, it is advisable to keep an eye on the Discount-Days and Crazy Deals. The sales are irresistible and your pocket is going to love buck-saving deals. Everyone likes to save some money and I believe you are not an exception:D

Why do I Need me-time

Busy as we all are in our vicious circle of life, it becomes difficult to find time for ourselves. Sounds crazy but do you steal a few minutes from your busy schedule to take a nap during the day? I can’t remember the last time I indulged in dancing alone, once used to be my favourite pastime. We have some passions to follow and thus weave a web of work around them. In the process of chasing the dreams, we forget to add me-time to the routine.

Me-time! What’s that?

Search Google and you find the definition of Me-time as “time spent relaxing on one’s own as opposed to working or doing things for others, seen as an opportunity to reduce stress or restore energy”. One needs to replenish energy to get up and work again with enthusiasm. For some people, it’s not easy to accept but truth is that our efficiency depends on Me-time. When we take time out of our busy routine to make ourselves comfortable, health as well as creativity improve.

I actually experience the same. When there’s a lot of work to do, I switch on my audio system and relax for a while. It is not that I shy away from doing the job. A few precious solitary moments recharge me and I’m refreshed to face the big challenge. I think all of you must be having the same feeling. Extract some time from twenty-four hours and spend on yourself, if you are not doing it now.

Importance of Me-time

Let’s decode the need for me-time. There’s so much stress in today’s life that we don’t get time to unwind. As a result, the stress piles up to present a horrible picture. We become tired, less interested in work and bored with our surroundings.
Time spent on yourself is not selfish. If you care to do your work sincerely, me-time is essential. It acts as a catalyst for better and faster results. While doing the routine work we are mechanically guided. Usually, no importance is given to happiness and self-satisfaction. It is me-time that can bring happiness to your routine work.
Me-time is no wastage of time; it increases efficiency thereby reducing the time required to do the job.

How to have Me-time?

There’s no hard and fast criterion to spend me-time. It varies from person to person. Find out what relaxes you. For one person music can do magic while for the other it is unwanted noise. Make sure you spend your time doing what your heart says and not to please someone else. For me the following things work:

๐Ÿž Deep breathing and Meditation

When I’m fed up with the routine and want to de-stress myself, deep breathing saves me. Deep-breathing cleanses our lungs by easing oxygen-carbon dioxide exchange. It also stabilises blood pressure and reduces stress. Works best if you quickly want to go back to the routine, fully energised.

๐Ÿž Listening to Music

Music is not just entertainment, it soothes our minds. Music has the power to reduce anxiety and depression. My me-time includes music of my taste:D
Yes, not any kind of music helps relieve your anxiety. Say, if you play your pop music for your grandmother who doesn’t like it, her stress-level is going to shoot up;)

Ask her how she likes to spend her me-time:)

๐Ÿž Taking a Nap

A short nap is my favourite me-time. It relieves me from undesirable stress and naturally induces deep breaths. If you have sufficient time, a short nap can be increased to 2-3 hour sleep. When tired and impatient, I choose to go to bed, for a short nap. It’s good for me and people around me;)

๐Ÿž Calling a friend

Whether you are tired or irritated, or in doubt, call a close friend. It’s an effective remedy for setting everything right. A hearty chat decreases stress level to boost the mood.
Make sure the chat sessions don’t go beyond the time allotted to your me-time;)

๐Ÿž Watching a Movie alone

You will have to make an extra effort to watch a movie alone. Movies, because they provide wholesome entertainment.
Alone, so that you can enjoy every bit without interference. Grab popcorn and cola, home-theatre or cinema hall, watch your favourite show at your favourite time:)

๐Ÿž Creative Writing

In me-time, I write for myself. It doesn’t include replying to emails or messages. It can be a poem, silly or sensible, depending on my mood; a short story or just scribbles evolving from my free mind. Believe me, the words I write with a relaxed mind are the most loved by me.

Indian Education Needs An Overhaul

I am convinced that books are the ultimate source of information. It is because of books that we come to know about the nuances of the worlds around us. There’s a world of science that teaches us to distinguish between different textures. There’s a world of art that makes our senses react. We gather information to learn how to respond to a particular situation. Individual differences may change the response but basic reactions are almost the same. Books and other sources of information add to our knowledge. We keep piling up this knowledge and believe that we have learnt all. Here lies my question, an extension to my article on ‘Where India Lagged‘.

Rote Learning – Not a Solution

School education, especially in India, stresses on gaining knowledge by memorising loads of books. There’s a little difference between learning and memorizing if you ask our schools. Students are aware that their grades are completely dependent on how good their memorizing power is. Sad. A bright student who doesn’t believe in rote learning has to accept poor grades. On the other hand, an average student with excellent rote power excels in academics. Irony. As a result of the faulty education system, students passed out of the schools with flying colours do not know how to operate simple apparatus like Vernier Callipers and Screw Gauge! When these students enter institutions for higher education, their grasping power further slows down. Result?
Most of the times, Indian students can’t compete with students from Western countries.

Vicious Cycle Of Mediocrity

Knowledge without practical application fails at one point or the other. We should be prepared to put our knowledge into action. Without action, our knowledge is meaningless. I read somewhere that India has to cater to the education of millions of people. The country tries to impart basic information (read bookish) to most of the people. Not a very rich country as India is, it can’t provide practical experience to everyone that comes with the unavoidable expenditure. If this is the severity of the situation, we will never be able to come out of the vicious cycle of mediocrity.

Where’s the Respect for the Skilled

After Independence, in the process of developing, Indians lost respect for skilled people. People who work with hands are considered inferior to those who read and write. Shocking but true. You will be surprised to know that we prepare lakhs of engineers every year. Many of them, about 80-90% change their stream after graduation. Why?
Our engineering graduates are well-read people with little practical knowledge. The reason being the same; our grades largely depend on theoretical knowledge. Practical experience is required but only a formal certificate is enough to satisfy the authorities or the companies that hire them. After all, this is India.
These incomplete proofs of experience fall flat when our students get a chance to compete with the students of top foreign universities. Failure in the education system leads to many failed lives. Pause.

Analysing Application of Knowledge

๐ŸžWe are aware that acquiring knowledge is quite necessary for us. We can’t survive the life-game if we lack knowledge. Another question pops up.
Is the application of knowledge as important as knowledge? When we talk about skill-based training, it can’t be provided in confined places. Say, nobody can teach ‘how to swim’ within four walls of a classroom. Same is the case with many more things.

๐Ÿž Heard somewhere that a person with a lot of knowledge but no practical experience is like a library whose doors are closed. Convinced! The application complements the knowledge and strengthens the concepts learnt. Moreover, the interest in the subject increases once we are clear about the practical aspects.

๐Ÿž By practising what we gain as knowledge, we move towards perfection. It is true that the human brain always works for perfect results. One gets better results by bringing knowledge to practice. It boosts confidence as well as raises happiness level.

We strive to bring happiness in our lives and this is going to be one impeccable effort:)

This article is written for the prompt ‘Knowing is not enough; we must apply’ as a part of the #WeeklyBlogHop hosted by Alpana and Neha Sharma I would like to thank Pragnya of for introducing me to this blog hop and would further like to introduce Kushal of to share her take on the prompt.

Social Networking with a Difference- TUBBR

Modern life is incomplete without online social networking. We don’t have much time to interact physically. There are deadlines, commitments, constraints; meeting everyone in person has become rather difficult. Social media sites and apps seem to be our only hope. I’m sharing the details of a new and unique social media networking app, TUBBR.

TUBBR- Not another social media app

“We already have many”, you will say! How is this new app ‘TUBBR’ different from the others? Exactly my point when someone asked me to test TUBBR and be a part of TUBBR Testing Family. I searched, researched, downloaded and found the following details helpful to be shared.

๐Ÿž TUBBR is the World’s first Personal, Social network where you can create multiple walls to be displayed to the people of your choice. Cool:)

๐Ÿž You can keep your wall private or public as per your choice. There’s a feature of collaboration where you can create walls with your friends having common interests.

๐Ÿž TUBBR gives you the freedom to arrange posts on various timelines. Yes, you are given the opportunity to create many timelines with diverse followers. Wow:)

๐Ÿž To bring relevance to your social media interactions, it becomes necessary to share different posts with different people and TUBBR provides you with that space.

๐Ÿž My experience with TUBBR has been amazing. I downloaded the app and found it quite unique and interesting. I created the following four walls:

1) My Camera Clicks: On this wall, I share everyday pictures clicked by me. Bright, colourful pics along with a short summary make a great looking wall.

2) Travel Stories: Pictures from my travel are compiled in this section. Sharing is instant where we can write a short description about the picture we post.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Link

3) Glimpse of India: This year, I participated in AprilAtoZ blogging challenge and my theme was ‘Glimpse of India’. This wall contains links to the posts about India.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Link

4) My Blog Posts: I share pictures and links to my blog posts on this wall. Yes, you can share links too. I find it useful because my followers are directed to my blog through TUBBR app.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Link

Important thing is that people don’t have to follow all your walls. They will follow the wall(s) they find interesting. Same is the privilege given to you. Follow only those walls where your interest lies.

๐Ÿž TUBBR gives you the freedom to browse content according to your taste. Follow only those walls that interest you. If you want Fashion in your feed, follow the related walls. If Travel fascinates you, go for the related feed. In TUBBR, nothing is imposed on you.

๐Ÿž I’ve been a micro influencer for the last few years. In TUBBR, I can see a promising app that can revolutionize the way we share content.

๐Ÿž Eager to download the TUBBR app, aren’t you? Wait!

Currently, TUBBR is in Alpha Phase – I, available via Exclusive Invites Only.
Psss….I have 100 limited invites to the app.
You can use my personal access code BGVR73 and start using TUBBR.

๐Ÿž Watch this video for the visual demo of using TUBBR app.

๐Ÿž TUBBR is available on both Google Play and Apple iTunes.

Bollywood Monsoon Melodies

Finally, it’s raining. The delayed monsoon is welcomed with extra excitement and I feel like dancing in the musical downpour. So-called culture and unkind age are restricting my actions and I’m turning my YouTube on for the ultimate Bollywood Monsoon Melodies. Music gives a meaningful direction to our otherwise mechanical life. Those who follow my blog seriously know very well that I’m a self-confessed Bollywood fan.
Bollywood music never fails to entertain people, specifically Indians, when they are in a mood to celebrate an occasion.

Rain. Rain is given loving philosophical definitions by poets. Man has always been fascinated by the freshening showers falling from the desperate sky. An early human with a beating heart must have uttered a couplet or two when rain blessed Earth with sparkling showers.
Such rhythmical segments (might have) created songs. Bollywood takes the song definition more seriously and to the another level. We have actors and actresses dancing and acting as the songs play in the background. Not to mention the amazing lip-sync; I couldn’t believe they’re not singing for themselves when I was a child. They actually sing or act, that’s secondary, my love for Bollywood songs comes first. Music lovers have a playlist for every occasion and I’m not an exception. When it rains, my fingers scroll through the monsoon songs and stop at the favourites list. Some of my all-time favourite monsoon songs are shared with you:)

P.S- Videos are available in the hyperlinks. Don’t miss the magic of Bollywood Monsoon Melodies โค๏ธ

How to choose a Broadband Plan and Provider

How to choose a Broadband Plan and Provider

In the dire need to stay globally connected, the modern world is fairly dependant on Broadband connections. Whether it is surfing the web, watching NETFLIX or connecting with loved ones on Skype, Broadband plans and providers have a lot of control over our lives. There are many Broadband Providers in the market and so are the plans. Choosing both wisely is the key to a happy modern life;)
Every household has its own network requirements. The quality and quantity varies from home to home. First of all, it is wise to find out your internet requirements.

What is Your Internet Usage

1) There are homes with school children who need internet for their assignments and homework. Parents want to watch movies online and the grandparents may want to stay connected with their relatives in other countries via Skype. The requirements of every home vary with internet usage and so are the plans. It is essential to select a Broadband plan according to your needs.

2) People who have just started using the internet should not pay for the expensive, high-speed internet. If required, the upgrading can be done easily by the Broadband service provider. Find your plan carefully else the guilt of paying more will kill you:D

New users usually face this problem and end up paying huge bills as I did a few years back. For beginners, ADSL broadband packages are recommended.

3) Today we have computers, smart TVs at home and frequently watch movies & TV shows online. For binge watchers, high-speed broadband connection is required. If you want good download-speed and picture quality, pay extra bucks for the fast Fibre Broadband.

4) Family Packages are also offered by the Broadband service providers. There are families where members stay online almost 24×7. Mobile phones, laptops, TVs all want internet and the Family Plan take care of to all these demands. Ask your service provider to suggest a plan catering to your needs. High-speed Fibre Broadband is recommended for such families.

5) If you are running a business and need data plan accordingly, just ask your broadband provider. Business plans, though slightly expensive, come with better customer care service and efficient security. A good data plan can help take your business to new heights.

6) Connection speed of 10Mbps is usually sufficient for most small households to carry out basic online activities without facing any problem. Broadband speed of 8 Mbps allows to e-mail, share pictures, watch Netflix, check Facebook and play light games. Heavy-game players and downloaders can find it difficult to go with 8 Mbps.

Which Broadband providers are available in your area

Once you are clear about what sort of internet user you are, find out the Broadband providers around you. Check the below things before opting for a particular broadband connection.

1) Talk to your friends/neighbours. Ask them about the best Broadband providers in your area. Mostly, word of mouth recommendations is better than print media.

2) By now, you might have found what kind of internet user you are: Heavy, Medium or Light. Go for the best suitable Broadband plan.

3) Want broadband and phone landline connection package?
Many providers give you a choice to opt for the combo package. It will save you time and money.

4) Many service providers suggest an option to bundle your smart TV in the broadband package. With internet requirements increasing day by day, such packages are in high demand. Opt for this plan if you watch TV with the internet. Otherwise, you will be wasting your money by paying extra for the Broadband+TV plan.

Value for Money

Last but not least, the value for money should be of the highest importance when you subscribe to a good Broadband connection. We all need a broadband connection that serves high speeds and charges minimum;)
That’s true. We want a fast connection without burning a hole in the pocket. Technology has been developed to the extent that, today, we can’t say that it is impossible. Some players like Den Broadband are there in the market to provide unlimited, reliable and high-speed broadband plans to your home. Embraced with the latest technology, they have customised plans for light, medium and heavy internet users. It is advisable to opt for the plan best suited to your needs.
